Navajo Inspired Traditional Coil Basket Hand Woven Sunflower Design 15.5" Large

Almost 15.5" across and 3.5" deep this large woven coil basket has a wonderful sunflower design with traditional Navajo colors. Wonderfully bright and crisp colors of deep purple indigo with red (deep orange) petals and dark yellow-brown accents outlined with black. Research indicates NE Arizona, SE Utah or NW New Mexico of origin.    

The second picture shows the bottom of the basket, base measures 8" across and again that wonderful indigo color. Baskets were traditionally made with various willows (tree), as I have learned through research (looks like dried grass or reed).

Hand woven imperfections (none present to my eye), weaving is tight and well preserved. Stored in a smoke free home. No stains.
